I feel inspired today. It’s Monday in November and quite brisk outside but the sun is bright just like this wonderfully vibrant yellow daisy. I hope this beautiful flower will help uplift you the way it has managed to uplift me.

Pink Fuchsia
Lovely, pink bells of fuchsia flowers hanging from a basket, asking to be photographed. Enjoy!

Nothing says beautiful like a perfect, red rose.

Moonlit Dahlia II
To continue from yesterday’s post, here is the top of the same flower. Endless yellow petals with subtle, pink tips.

Moonlit Dahlia I
Little bit of light play. This is the most stunning dahlia but I thought why not photograph it at night and from below? It’s something different (for me) and kind of refreshing. I like the way this lighting emphasizes the textures of this beautiful flower. Tomorrow, I will post this flower from above so you can see its hundreds of pink and yellow petals lit the same way.

Aldergrove Zoo, Part 4 – Pink Flowers
Such amazing pinks! When in full bloom, these resemble a wild rose-bush, but the buds are quite different from the wild roses I’m familiar with. Do you know what these are?

Clematis And A Honey Bee
Huge pinky purple clematis blooms. These beautiful flowers are major honey bee attractors. The only problem when capturing these was that the bees were so busy moving from one flower to the next that I could barely get any decent shots. But, I will keep trying as the summer commences, and I have a feeling I’ll get a few great ones to post very, very soon.

Impasto Sunflowers, Oil Paintings
Though, some of you have already seen these two paintings, I originally posted them right when I started this blog and therefore they received little to no audience. The first one, Fiery Sunflower, is my personal favourite. Now that I have a wonderful audience which (I’m very grateful) is growing every day, I felt compelled to bring this piece up again.
Fiery Sunflower was the first of my paintings that ever sold as a print and it was my first attempt at palette knife painting. I love this technique. For me, it proves to be a very enjoyable and somewhat liberating experience. I love the way the palette knife allows for thick texture. It seems to bring the image to life somehow, don’t you think?
The second, Cool Sunflower On A Sunny Day, was just to see if I could recreate the same effect using opposite colours, complementing the first. Love the bright colour in this one.

Korean Dwarf Lilac
Lilacs are some of my all time favourite flowers. Not only because they’re pleasing to the eye but their fragrance is just incredible. It’s such a soothing scent, if I could, I would stand in front of my house all day just to breathe it in. Here it is in full bloom.

Orange Tulip, Oil Painting (Completed)
So after obsessing over every brush stroke for a while, I decided this is the final version of this painting. As mentioned previously in Work In Progress, Orange Tulip, Oil Painting and Work In Progress, Orange Tulip, Oil Painting (phase 2), this piece was inspired by a photograph from the post, Spring Tulips in early May.
