Aldergrove Zoo, Part 4 – Pink Flowers

Such amazing pinks! When in full bloom, these resemble a wild rose-bush, but the buds are quite different from the wild roses I’m familiar with. Do you know what these are?

Aldergrove Zoo, Part 2 – Birds

You would think that by zoo birds I mean colourful parrots and other exotic species. However, all the exotic ones seemed to be hiding both times we tried to see them this trip. Not to worry, though. I thought this peacock, sitting on a rather unattractive fence (hence, the zoomed-in headshot), was pretty spectacular with his shiny, blue feathers and a ton of attitude. And the robin is just as pretty as any bird showing off his orange belly in the area where parrots usually hang out.

Aldergrove Zoo, Part 1 – Baboon

Lucky for me, I got to go on a preschool field trip with my son last week. He’s three so photography gets a bit tricky while trying to keep an eye on him. This baboon was just still enough that he gets to headline my first zoo series. He was very cool to photograph.

Turtles At Lost Lagoon

Sharing A Rock

These guys were a pleasant surprise as I was passing through the Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park. I got lucky enough to get two seperate groups of four turtles hanging out just a few feet away from eachother. So cool!

Goslings

These three turned out less then tack sharp but I couldn’t not put them up. For someone who is new to wildlife photography, these are rare captures, so I’ll just make the best of it. I hope you still enjoy them.
